OTP Vault is a two‑factor authentication app that generates time‑based one‑time passwords (TOTP) for your online accounts. It’s private, fast, and designed for iOS.
One-time passwords help protect your account against phishing and password leaks by requiring a second password, makimg it harder to compromise accounts.
Many password managers now allow you to generate one-time passwords as well. While this is highly convenient it does not increase account security, as a compromise of your password manager means your account is no longer secure.
By using another one-time password app, you keep a separation between your authentication factors, increase security and resilience.
OTP Vault stores the secrets used to generate one-time passwords encrypted on your devices using the system's Keychain. The app does not communicate with any other systems. Backups can faciliated through encrypted iCloud backups.
When you setup MFA on one of your accounts, the service will provide you with a QR code. You can scan this code with the app and the one- time password will be added to OTP Vault.
Now, the one-time password associated with the account can be see anytime in the app and updates periodically. You can simply tap to copy it and paste it in the application again.
